Springridge Farm Spring Program for Primary Grade Children
Geared to correlate with the Ontario Science & Technology curriculum for grades K-3
May 12 until June 13, 2008
Take a WAGON RIDE to the strawberry fields (opportunity to observe a farm using all 5 senses).
Visit the pumpkin field to PLANT PUMPKIN SEEDS (growth and change in plants).
LEARN ABOUT THE SUN AND WATER, and how they help plants to grow (characteristics and needs of living things).
Watch an OBSERVATION BEE HIVE to learn about the bees.
Visit with baby goats, chicks and bunnies (growth and change in animals).
Jump in the huge straw bales and play in the corn trail.
Each child will receive a PLANTING CERTIFICATE to bring back to the farm with their families to pick a free small pumpkin, as well as crayons and an activity poster.
REFRESHMENT: Each student will be served a peach drink.
TIME & COST: The morning and afternoon programs are 1-1/2 hours, and the cost is $6.00 per child (includes GST). The 11:00 am lunch-time program is 2 hours, and the cost is $6.50 per child (includes GST). Food is not included; children bring a bag lunch. There is a minimum group charge for 20 children per tour guide. Most of our program is under cover, so rain is not a problem. Payment is due at time of the tour. NEW for 2008: Teachers and adult helpers are free up to a 5:1ratio (children to adults). Any adults over this will be charged $6 each.

ABOUT SPRINGRIDGE: Springridge Farm is a beautiful fruit farm located on the side of the Niagara Escarpment, just west of Milton. At Springridge there is a large barn with a unique gift shop, deli and bakery, animal barn, pavilion and play areas.
