Springridge Farm - a Canadian Experience
Give your visiting friends and family a Canadian experience
Are you welcoming family and friends from abroad? When visitors come to Canada looking for an authentic Canadian experience, be sure to add Springridge Farm to your “to do” list.
Agriculture is such an important part of the Canadian landscape and economy. We are proud to be a working farm, as well as, a destination for families to have fun and learn more about our farm and the lands around us. The Hughes family has been fruit farming for six generations (over 100 years) and moved to Springridge Farm in 1960. To learn more about Springridge and the Hughes family, visit our farm history page.
Here are 5 quintessentially Canadian things to see and do at the farm.
Visit our fun farm and take the tractor wagon ride – learn about the crops we grow, the farm and the escarpment lands that surround us.
Honey bees are an important part of our farm. Bees assist us by providing pollination for our crops. We also work with a beekeeper to produce and sell honey from 1 million bees that live in hives beside our pond. Stop into the barn market and bring some Springridge honey home with you.
What could be more Canadian that our most popular jam ever... CANADA 150 JAM! Last year in celebration of Canada 150, we created a special jam featuring coast-to-coast ingredients that include strawberries from Springridge Farm, raspberries from the west coast, wild blueberries from the east coast and a splash of Canadian sparkling wine. Stop by and get some before it is gone.
Known around the world as a uniquely Canadian dessert, butter tarts are a staple in our scratch bakery! While the debate over raisins vs. no raisins rages on we have to say we are “team raisin”
In Canada we are lucky to have the climate and soil to grow a wide variety of crops. In Milton, where we are located, this is considered to be part of the Greenbelt. At Springridge, we grow several crops but we also carry fruits and vegetables from other local Ontario farms to sell in our farm market ensuring you can have a “taste” of Ontario throughout the growing season.
We are open daily from 9am-5pm, see you soon!
